A Skeptic’s Guide to Church (Week 5): “A Biblical Perspective on Slavery”

Jason Mayhall, Lead Pastor – Titus 2:9-10

Pastor Jason Mayhall leads Redemption Bible Church in the examination what the Bible says about slavery and racial hatred, given the events of Charlottesville this week. This is a continuation of the sermon series entitled “A Skeptic’s Guide to Church,” a look at what makes a vibrant and inviting church environment. It is clear that racial prejudice is still alive and well in the United States. Pastor Jason uses the Gospel to show how we as Christians should stand up boldly against racism in any form. All races are equal, as we all come from the same maker. People who believe they have been placed above others, or those who take on idolatry of country over the Lord’s Word, must understand they are acting against the teachings of Jesus Christ. We as Christians are called to rise up and speak the Gospel of Christ and cannot stand idly by and allow this hatred and discrimination to exist, unchallenged, by those who truly believe. All those who seek God can find love and freedom.
