After Eden (Week 2): “The Way of Cain”

Jerrod Helms – Genesis 4:17-26

Redemption Bible Church is taught about life in a fallen world, part of our current series entitled “After Eden,” which focuses on the book of Genesis. Jerrod Helms describes that the primary challenge of the week is to not make life about us. Instead we are called to serve God and be thankful for the grace God has shown us. We explore the lineage of sin and how we might better understand why, at times, bad things happen to good people and vice versa. If our basis for following Christ is being good or bad, we’re missing the mark. Our life should be about Him and His glory, reflecting Christ’s love for all of us. God does not promise us a life of great things, but He does promise us a great ending when we follow Him in faith.

Swallowed by Grace (Week 3): “The Preaching Prophet”

Jerrod Helms – Jonah 3:1-10

Redemption Bible Church follows the story of Jonah, as part of our sermon series entitled “Swallowed by Grace.” Jerrod Helms talks about how God accomplishes his plan, regardless of what we do as people. In Jonah 3, we see whether Jonah has learned this lesson as God gives him a second chance, instructing him to preach in the city of Nineveh. Do you know who you are and who you represent?

Misused Verses In The Bible (Week 2): “Ask for Anything in My Name”

Jerrod Helms – John 14:13-14

Redemption Bible Church continues the sermon series entitled “Misused Verses in the Bible,” with Jerrod Helms teaching about John 14:13-14. This says, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” Jerrod talks about how asking for things in God’s name shouldn’t be about us but for the purpose of glorifying God.
